When we learned that my parents were selling the cottage, we decided to go for a 10-day visit. Coincidentally, we timed our visit with both the Fluckiger (mum's family) and Reid family reunions. It was a busy visit filled with lots of family, and some sad goodbyes to the cottage. We had some good weather, and Kai and Nyla enjoyed boat rides and swimming in the lake. The life jackets were extremely helpful, except when Nyla claimed unhappily "strap up the bum bum" (see picture above). Kai drove the boat and particularly enjoyed blowing the horn. We will miss the cottage... I fondly remember all of my summers there, with friends from school and from the lake, and the many family reunions we have enjoyed there. It holds a special place in my heart and I hope to provide that kind of retreat space for my own family.
