On the weekend of June 11-12 we divided and conquered - Rod and Nyla went on a father-daughter bike trip to Galiano Island, and Kai played in a ball hockey tournament (with Colleen assisting - carrying bags, water, snacks, and generally providing support). Rod and Nyla had a fantastic weekend with 4 other dads & their kids (Sophie & Brett, Sarah & Neal, Anna & Mike and Ben & Rob), and spent their days beach walking, crab hunting, and biking around the island. For dinners they jumped on the Hummingbird Pub bus and ate grilled cheeses and chicken fingers. Kai played 6 games over the weekend, and their team, the Vancouver Cheetahs, won the top prize in their age division! Kai played really well and had a blast with his buddies: Archie, Rowan, Jun, Casey, and Jack. It was a fun but exhausting weekend spent in the parking lot of Metrotown shopping mall.
