cottage time

Just a few days ago we returned from almost 3 weeks in cottage country. We moved between the Tukker - Brinkman and Reid cottages and also fit in a 5 day canoe trip with friends (without Kai and Nyla - who stayed with Grandma and Grandad). It was a fabulous holiday - we had beautiful weather, lots of time with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, and tons of swimming and cottage activities.
We were also able to see our newest cousin / nephew Jimmy, who was born in Ottawa coincidentally when we were there. Paul and Steph were medi-vacced from Iqaluit due to a nursing shortage and had litttle Jimmy at the Ottawa General Hospital. They then came to the Reid cottage for some R&R for a few days and were able to stock up on some baby esssentials before heading back up north (see Gord, Ralph, Paul and Rod smoking celebratory cigars on the boat!) Kai and Nyla were excited to meet their newest cousin and can't wait to see him again, hopefully at Christmas time in Bowmanville.

We're now back in Vancouver where the weather is a tad dreary and we're missing our time at the lake and river. We're already talking about our cottage time next summer...

We have a few things organized for the rest of the summer - summer camps for K & N and a few camping trips. It is good to be home and settled in... all we need is some sunshine!
